👆 ONE BIG THING

You're not ready to release.

That's the lie you keep telling yourself. The mix isn't right. The master sounds off. You need a better studio, a better producer, a better something before you can put it out there.

Here's the thing: a label manager our CEO & Founder Christopher Gonda spoke to on the heartdea13r podcast told us about an album that sounded like absolute garbage. Recorded at home, played by someone who could barely play.

It became one of the most beloved records in its scene. Not despite the rough edges, but because of them.

Kay Macauley at Golden Robot Records put it plainly: it doesn't need to be done in some high-quality recording studio. It just needs to come from your heart and sound like how you want it to sound.

You have a laptop. You have a mic. You have something to say. That's more than enough to start.

The artists waiting for perfect conditions are losing ground to the ones shipping honest work from their bedrooms. Not because bedroom recordings are inherently better. Because the work that exists will always beat the work that doesn't.

Besides, there’s fuck all to uploading music now; the gates have been blown smoove off. The barrier to entry isn't gear or budget anymore. It's you, standing in your own way, convinced that what you have isn't enough.

Maybe it is.

Stop polishing. Start putting it out there. Maybe the world doesn't need another perfectly produced track that never sees daylight. Maybe it needs the messy, real thing you've been sitting on for six months.
